Simple Composting Process at Societies

1. Segregate and collect the organic material from all flats
2. Shred this wet waste and garden waste in a shredder
3. Put shredded material (ideal mix is 30% wet waste and 70% garden waste) in composting pit.
4. Add bio culture
5. Mix the and move the material once a day to introduce air in the centre – optional
6. First batch would be ready by 2-3 months
7. Next batches should be ready within a month.

Composting pit is arrangement to hold atleast 1 cubic meter of volume of waste with air flow holes on all sides and drainage arrangement at bottle
